About the Author

The author grew up in a tiny town in the red rock southwest of northern Arizona and southern Utah, on the Colorado River. There, on the vast Colorado Plateau, she learned her ABC’s, how to catch lizards and climb cliffs, and other necessary life skills. Most importantly, she sensed that the natural world was an intelligent, cohesive web of beauty, and that she and everything around her was a living part of a singular, yet diverse cosmos.

In time, she purchased a camera and began capturing what she saw; she also began journaling her experiences and life at home and where she felt drawn to explore in many parts of the world. From the 1980’s on, she developed a love for the ancient culture and history found throughout Mexico and Central America. In the 2000’s, she also fell in love with South East Asia, Tibet and India. More recently her travels have taken her to Italy, Greece and Turkey.

Her education and interests are evolving. She obtained a BA from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque before attending law school there, even as she managed to travel and photograph the places she experienced. After a number of years in law and policy, both in New Mexico and Oregon, she returned to graduate school to train as a Jungian-influenced, somatically oriented psychotherapist. It was across this span of time that her spiritual life deepened, as did her writing.

Now in her sixties, this website showcases the beauty and struggles of a varied life through the mediums of writing and photography. The author deeply hopes readers enjoy and find something of themselves in this ever-evolving showcase of shared words and places.
